What brought a huge smile today?

Driving to work and I ended up behind a truck and trailer loaded with Christmas trees.
The pine limbs were spilling out the side of the truck and all I could see were trunks bouncing in front of me.
I passed him because clearly he cannot accelerate over 50.
It was an early 70's blue Ford pick truck with the guy had on a flannel shirt gripping the steering wheel smiling.
Now that made me smile.
Hoping all of the trees find good homes and his truck trailer make through the season.

I am thankful for that small glimpse of real life today.

Finished reading Maman's Homesick Pie

Finished reading this on my flight from Chicago to Detroit. I enjoyed the stories and the honest writing on these pages. Donia Bijan paints a beutiful story about her family and the trials they faced coming to the US from Iran.
Donia created her own path and followed her dream to become a chef.
The recipes look very tastey and she had me hooked on her very first recipe in the first chapter.
Persian Cardamom Tea.
Love Cardamom.. the smell, the taste and the memories

FWD this Video: There's a Famine in the Horn of Africa

Floods in Thailand

Three months of heavy monsoon rain have flooded a third of the Thailand since late July, most severely in the Chao Phraya but also in the Mekong River basin. Northern and central areas were worst hit initially but now the run-off is draining south, threatening the capital city Bangkok as it combines with a seasonal high tide.

Thailand’s Meteorological Department has been issuing detailed and regularly updated forecasts. According to the most recent one, during 28-30 Oct, the moderate high pressure area from China extends to cover the Northeast of Thailand and the South China Sea. The westerly trough will move across the upper North of Thailand. During 31 October–3 November, another high pressure area from China will extend to cover upper Thailand causing cool weather.

hoping that the ground can find a way to absord this water!
